It seems to be the calm before the storm! As if everyone here can already "visualize" the iPhone in their hands.
Someone said that the line reached the next corner, which would be the corner of Lytton and Cowper. I didn’t want to venture that far and risk missing some big announcement on this side of the Apple Store.
Now the questions relate to how this buying process is going to work. If this is the typical smartphone buying process that we are used to in the traditional retail stores, that can take anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes or even longer. Considering the 100 to 200 people in line, and the 200 to 400 iPhones they are going to buy, this may require yet another night on the sidewalk in Palo Alto. There was a talk though that the setup is all done later via iTunes. If so, and if there are 10 to 20 reps on the Apple Store floor, we can then be out and about in an hour or two, which might leave us with enough time to connect tonight and give that first report.
